Types of blades for circular saws: how to make a clever choice?

Everyone, who has a circular saw in the economy, knows that from time to time its blade requires sharpening or replacement (especially if blades of a blade are absolutely worn out). In this article, we will consider all highlights, which need to be considered upon purchasing of blades.

Characteristics of saw blades.

The external diameter of a blade.

There are absolutely small disks, from 150 mm. Such blades equip low-power circular saws due to the small depth of cutting. Due to this such saw looks quite tiny.

There are saws with a big circle, which diameter is 160, 180, 185, 200 mm. The small blade can be put on a big saw. However, it is almost impossible to deliver a big blade on a small saw. It will surely destroy the protection and that will lead to unnecessary costs.

Internal diameter (landing opening).

It is very important point upon purchase to which it is necessary to pay attention. There are several sizes of an internal opening: 16, 20, 22, 30, 32mm. If you do not know which to choose, then this tip will be useful. As a rule, this indicator is specified on marking of a saw. If it was erased, it is possible to measure an opening with a caliper, (measure by a roulette is very problematic, especially when you need to determine a difference in two millimeters (if the landing of 30 mm or 32 mm).

There are blades directly under two diameters of an opening. Such blades have the ring adapter in the set.

For example, the size of 30 mm blade can be altered by means of a ring, which is inserted inside of the opening. what is piyo?

Quantity of teeth on a blade

There are circular saw blades with the small number of teeth (for example 24 teeth on 200 mm a blade). Such blades will be suitable for rapid and easy material cutting. It is better to put such blade when it is required to saw a heap of boards and special accuracy is not required.

Blades with a large number of teeth are especially suitable for an accurate cutting. It turns out smoother and not “fragmentary”. But time leaves a little one kick back more. It will be very convenient for sawing of plywood, DVP, and chipboard. To have different blades – both with a small, and a large number of teeth – is an outstanding idea.

External openings on saw blades serve for chilling as in the case of a kickback strong friction and respectively against blade overheat.

Marking of blades. Usually, there are three parameters. For an example: 190*24*30. It means an external diameter of 190 mm, 24 is the diameter of opening landing, 30 – quantity of teeth.
